Great Day in Columbus!
Penny and I have had a wonderful Sunday in my hometown. We began the day by visiting Veritas, a millennial style church, and there was a definite "vibe" about our experience there. It was a younger crowd and one could sense a clear focus on what the church is seeking to accomplish. A verse about new wineskins kept popping in my mind the entire time we were there.
Dr. Russell Moore, the president of the Southern Baptist Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, gave a powerful message on racial reconciliation. His pointed and practical message of the hope we have in Christ to make us one brought an enthusiastic response from the congregation. I'm glad to be a part of a congregation that is seeking to make reconciliation between the races a part of our daily walk. East Baptist I am proud of you!!!
Young leaders like Dr. Moore and David Platt of our International Mission Board are one reason I'm also proud to be a Southern Baptist. It does matter what we believe. And it matters how we live out our high calling in Christ Jesus.
Praying for you in C-bus... please be praying for me!
